The Law has changed regarding Blinds installed in your home.

From March 2014 the law requires all blind companies to install blinds in a manner which is clearly set out. No chains to be allowed within 1500mm of the floor area, unless they have a double chain break connector installed within it no more than 200mm apart.

All chains not having a breakaway connector have to be fitted above 1500mm and fixed against the frame or wall by a certified connector suitable for that device, not a general device as this has not been tested and falls foul of the law.

Blinds that dont have cords or operating chains are now generally referred to as safety blinds, there are many types of safety blinds, safety roller cassette blinds, INTU Blinds, Perfect Fit Blinds, pleated blinds and wand controlled vertical blinds.
